
Muzaffarpur, Bihar, India: NTPC Kanti launched the Girls’ Empowerment Campaign 2025 on Monday. The campaign was inaugurated by Tapas Saha, General Manager (Maintenance and Operations) at NTPC Kanti.
A total of 40 girls from various villages in the Kanti block, representing eight schools, are participating in the Girls’ Empowerment Campaign. Based on the theme “Empowered Girls, Empowered Kanti”, the workshop will run from May 26 to June 22, offering free education to the participants in subjects such as mathematics, English, Hindi, and more.
In addition to academics, all participants will receive nutritious meals, and for the holistic development of the girls, they will also engage in extracurricular activities like yoga, dance, music, and painting. Furthermore, computer training will also be provided.
Speaking at the inauguration, Tapas Saha said,
“Starting today, NTPC Kanti is launching a four-week-long Girls’ Empowerment Campaign for 40 girls from neighbouring villages. This campaign is not just about teaching from books but also about imparting every essential skill and knowledge that will help them become empowered individuals. Just as NTPC remains committed to the development of Kanti, it will also remain committed to the safety and empowerment of these girls. I would like to thank the parents, teachers, and principals for their support in this initiative.”
Maheshkumar Suthar, Additional General Manager (Human Resources), NTPC Kanti, also addressed the gathering and said,
“This campaign will not only bring changes in the lives of these girls but also in their families and the wider society. After 30 days, when these girls leave, they will be filled with confidence.”
The occasion was also graced by Sanjeet Kumar, Deputy General Manager, along with other senior officials.
In the vote of thanks, Sanjeet Kumar, Deputy General Manager (Human Resources), expressed his gratitude to all the girls, local villagers, and everyone present at the event.
