Patna: Big news for travelers! The construction of Patna Airport’s swanky new terminal is nearing completion, and it’s set to make your journeys smoother and faster. With 10 entry gates, the terminal is designed to cut down on crowding and save passengers precious time.
The ₹1,400 crore project is expected to wrap up by the end of April, after which Prime Minister Narendra Modi will officially inaugurate it. The new building will have a well-planned layout—departures on the first floor and arrivals on the ground floor, along with four dedicated arrival gates and four luggage belts to keep things moving smoothly.
BJP Leaders Take a Firsthand Look
On Tuesday, BJP MP Ravi Shankar Prasad and Bihar Minister Nitin Nabin visited Jayaprakash Narayan International Airport to check on the progress.
Prasad, who also chairs the Patna Airport Advisory Committee, shared, “We came to see how the work is coming along. Minister Nitin Nabin and I had pushed for this project, and after a lot of effort, it’s finally taking shape. We’re hopeful PM Modi will inaugurate it soon.”
A Grand Inauguration on the Horizon
Prasad confirmed that officials have assured all work will be done by April. “We want a grand opening and have requested that the remaining work be sped up. We’ll also urge the Prime Minister to inaugurate it himself,” he said. He also pointed out that Patna Airport is one of the few in the world located right in the heart of the city, making it extra convenient for travelers.
Minister Nitin Nabin added, “Thanks to PM Modi’s special package, Patna Airport is getting a world-class upgrade. The project stayed within budget, and soon, PM Modi and CM Nitish Kumar will together unveil this modern facility.”
