Patna: Visiting Sanjay Gandhi Biological Park, also known as Patna Zoo, has become more expensive. The zoo administration has increased ticket prices and charges for other facilities, with the revised rates will be effective from April 1. The administration submitted its proposal to the Forest, Environment, and Climate Change Department in February, which has now been approved.
Increased Entry Fee
The ticket price for adults has been raised from Rs 30 to Rs 50, while for children, it has increased from Rs 10 to Rs 20. School groups (students up to Class 10, with a minimum of 10 students) will be charged Rs 10 per student, but an identity card will be mandatory to avail of this discount.
Special Fee on January 1
On January 1, the entry fee will be Rs 150 for adults and Rs 60 for children. The ticket price for Shishu Udyan has been set at Rs 10.
Boating Charges Increased
Now you will have to spend more money to enjoy boating in the zoo. Earlier, the fee for a two-seater boat was Rs 80, and for a four-seater boat was Rs 100. Now it has been increased to Rs 100 and Rs 120. The ticket for the fish house has been increased from Rs 10 to Rs 20 for adults, while for children it has increased from Rs 5 to Rs 10.
Higher Charges for Morning Walk Passes
Around 9,000 people visit Patna Zoo daily for morning walks. The cost of morning walk passes has now been increased.
- Three-month pass: Rs 1,500 (earlier Rs 1,000)
- Six-month pass: Rs 2,000 (earlier Rs 1,500)
- One-year pass: Rs 2,500 (earlier Rs 2,000)
Senior Citizen Pass
- Three-month pass: Rs 700
- Six-month pass: Rs 1,000
- One-year pass: Rs 1,500
250 CCTV Cameras Installed for Enhanced Security
The zoo administration has taken major steaps to improve security and animal monitoring. Around 250 new CCTV cameras have been installed in various enclosures, making it easier to track the health and activities of the animals. In the future, a central monitoring control room may also be established to oversee all enclosures.
The zoo administration says that the fee has been increased keeping in mind the expansion of the zoo, new facilities, and security measures. This will further improve the care and management of animals in the zoo.
